How to become an Island? THE SHOWROOM

In 2023 DTAFA was invited to a solo show at Q21 Schauraum, MuseumsQuartier Wien. For this very specific location, the project HOW TO BECOME AN ISLAND? was transformed into DTAFA’s own showroom, teasing the 4-step-training-course to become an island for the Little Ringed Plover. 

On 4 screens the different steps were demonstrated, while loveletters to the bird were flickering over an LED panel. The space was covered with textile in egg-like appearance. In this landscape visitors could spot various training props as well as tiny models of the bird’s eggs. A VR-station provided visitors an opportunity to learn how to spot the birds’ eggs in the gravel.
