Open Call | IllustrationHub 2018
From transdisciplinary dialogue towards a collaborative art project
In January 2018 an exciting science communication project will be launched by the WTZ Ost. We offer researchers and artists from the universities in Vienna the possibility to get to know a rather young but very promising form of scientific communication. By using art as a language of science five teams of researchers and artists will develop creative perspectives on their research topic to form the basis for emerging artworks: Drawings, 360 ° illustrations or comics – any form of visualization is welcome! The IllustrationHub focuses on the humanities, social and cultural sciences. Visual artist and illustrator Solmaz Farhang www.solmazfarhang.com will train and support the teams in their creative process of designing their science communication project.
We offer…
The transdisciplinary dialogue between art and science makes it possible for the teams to work on and present abstract scientific content in a new way, elaborating a form of visualization to make it accessible to the public.
You get…
A unique art project, development of scientific communication skills, experience in transdisciplinary dialogues, final presentation in the form of an exhibition*, getting to know science communication as an innovative field of artistic as well as scientific activity.
